The right food is important for the patient!

Cecilia and Angelica are two of six cooks in the kitchen at Halland Hospital Halmstad. Together with the chefs in Varberg, they develop recipes for tasty and nutritious meals for the patients.

Good food is important for patients, it makes them more energetic and helps them get better faster," says Cecilia.

Every day, meals are prepared for around 600 patients in Halmstad and Varberg. The menu consists of breakfast, dinner, supper and snacks in between - something that is just as important to eat as other meals.

At least 30% of the raw materials used are organic, and the food waste becomes biogas. In Kungsbacka, the municipality delivers the meals to the patients at the hospital.
